It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frances Elizabeth (Goodeill) Thompson, wife of Blair Thompson of Bayside, NB. Frances left us peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2026.
Born on November 18, 1936, Lake Utopia, NB; she is the daughter of the late Austin & Vivian (Hamilton) Goodeill.
Frances worked as a telephone operator for 10 years. She took in borders while they attended the Community College and knit many beautiful sweaters for the Cottage Craft. She also worked at The China Chest seasonally for 10 years. She so loved to quilt with her friends, cross stitch and was a talented baker. Frances was a devoted member of the St. Andrews Baptist Church for many years.
Surviving in addition to her husband Blair are her daughter Trudy Fitzgerald, son-in-law Pat Fitzgerald, Larry Goodeill (Donna) of Lepreau, NB, several nieces, nephews and cousins and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Frances was predeceased by her son, Danny and her sisters, Lillian Spinney and Alice Young.
By Frances’ request cremation will take place. A memorial service in celebration of Frances’ life will be held on Wednesday August 26th, 2026 at 2:00 pm at St. Andrews Baptist Church, King Street, St. Andrews, NB. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation to be held from 1-2 PM, followed immediately by the memorial service at 2:00 pm. A private family internment of ashes will take place at the St. Andrews Rural Cemetery at a later date.
