Obituary of Joseph Vernon Robicheau

ROBICHEAU JOSEPH   V. –

Joseph Vernon Robicheau age 96 of St. Stephen NB passed away June 12, 2026, at the Charlotte County Hospital. Born on September 23,1929 in Meteghan, Digby Co. Nova Scotia, he was the son of Mathurin and Elizabeth (Saulnier) Robicheau.

He is survived by his daughter Catherine DeMerchant (Richard), granddaughter Melissa Stewart, great-grand daughters Abigail Legacy, Allison Stewart, great-grandsons Riley Stewart and Dominic Stewart, daughter in law Cynthia Robicheau (late Vernon Jr.) and grandsons Dillion Robicheau and Rafael Robicheau.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Dorothy LaPierre sons Michael Laperrie, Vernon Joseph Robicheau, siblings Leanord, Alfred, Regina, Rita, Margaret and Edward.

Joseph worked for many years with the mill in McAdam, NB, as a security officer. Joseph had a longtime passion of woodworking, mastering his craft in designing and creating musical instruments, such as the guitar, mandolin and violin. Joseph played guitar and mandolin most of his life.

A longtime resident of St. Stephen, NB; he was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church.

Joseph’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at the Senior Complex and the Charlotte County Hospital for their care and compassion.

By Joseph’s request cremation will take place. A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date in Meteghan, NS.
