Obituary of Josie Michael Brown

Josie Michael Brown 

May 21, 2012 – June 1, 2026 

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Josie Michael Brown, our beloved “Buddy Boy,” who left us peacefully on June 1, 2026, at his home on Campobello Island. 

Josie just celebrated his 14th birthday, a milestone he fought long and hard to reach while bravely navigating a rare DNM1 genetic disorder. He brought joy to everyone around him. He loved being sung too, and his big, bright smiles and sweet babbles had the power to light up any room. 

 Though his time with us was far too short, he left us with a lifetime of unforgettable memories.  He will be remembered with love, missed beyond words, and carried always in the hearts of his devoted mother Renee, fiancé Cody, sisters Adalynn, Jasmine, and Alexis, his Nanny Ella, Aunt Anna, his extended family, his dog Quinn and everyone who knew him. 

“Those we love never truly leave us. They live on, in the memories we hold and the love that remains.”

A Time of visitation will be held at The Wilson’s Beach United Pentecostal Church from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Monday, June 8, 2026, a funeral service to follow at 1PM.  Internment to take place at Wilson’s Beach Community Cemetery.

For those who wish to donate in memory of Josie the family has suggested the Saint John Regional Hospital Pediatrics Unit, the IWK or the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation (Pediatrics).
