Perley, Peter Dudley
75 years, Peter Dudley Perley passed away at the Charlotte County Hospital on Sunday, March 22, 2026, after battling COPD and pancreatic cancer. Born in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, he was the son of the late Arthur “Pete” and Marjorie (Dickison) Perley.
Peter is survived by his spouse, Murielle LeGresley, his daughters, Danielle Perley of Montreal and Celine Perley of Fredericton and his brother Sandy Perley (Norma Taniguchi).
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Steven Perley.
Born in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, he attended Three Rivers High School before graduating from Acadia University earning his BSc in Biology. Peter worked at the St. Andrews Biological Station as a fisheries technician for 31 years. Peter liked golf (despite not being very good at it!); he watched all types of sports and had a knack for sports trivia. Peter purchased a dilapidated house on Whittier Ridge, which he restored with lots of help and decades of hard work. Peter puttered around the yard, and spent many hours working in his workshop, completing various projects for his family. He cared deeply for animals, especially the family’s adopted cat. He maintained his dry sense of humour and love for coffee until the very end.
As per Peter’s wishes, cremation has taken place, no visitation or funeral will be held at this time.
The family would like to express their thanks to the diligent staff of the Extra Mural Program, the Charlotte County Hospital and Saint John Regional Hospital for their dedicated and compassionate care shown towards Peter.

C’est avec tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès à l'Hôpital du comté de Charlotte, St Stephen NB, de Peter Dudley Perley le 22 mars 2026, à l’âge de 75 ans. Il souffrait de MPOC et du cancer du pancréas. Époux de madame Murielle LeGresley. Né à Trois-Rivières, Québec, Peter laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Danielle Perley (Montréal) et Celine Perley (Fredericton) ainsi que son frère Sandy Perley (Norma Taniguchi). Décédé avant, ses parents Arthur ˝Pete˝ et Marjorie (Dickison) Perley et son frère Steven Perley.
À Trois-Rivières, il a gradué de l`école secondaire Three Rivers High School, ensuite il a obtenu son baccalauréat en biologie à L'Université Acadia. Il a travaillé 31 ans comme technicien de pêches à la station de biologie de St. Andrews. Peter aimait le jeu de golf, en dépit de ses défis. Il aimait surtout regarder les sports et il était doué avec une connaissance des faits sportifs.
Peter a graduellement rénové sa première maison à Whittier Ridge avec beaucoup l’aide des autres. Il travaillait dans la cour et dans son atelier où il a complété des projets pour sa famille. Surtout il était amoureux des animaux, spécialement le chat que la famille a adopté. Son humour sec et sa passion pour le café sont restés jusqu'à la fin.
Ni exposition, ni service religieux, ainsi seront respectées les volontés de Peter. Il a choisi la crémation pour son dernier voyage.
La famille tient à remercier le personnel du Programme extra-mural NB , l’Hôpital du comté de Charlotte, Hôpital régional de Saint John pour leur bons soins et leur compassion envers lui.
