Today, we remember and honour the life of Mike Barry, a beloved soul who touched many hearts. Though we feel the weight of loss, we hold onto the hope that comes from our Lord Jesus Christ. Scripture reminds us that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord,” and we take comfort knowing that Mike now rests in His eternal peace.
Mike’s life reflected God’s love—through their kindness, their compassion, and the light they brought to those around them. I am grateful for the moments shared, the lessons learned, and the blessings their presence brought into our lives. I had the opportunity to work with him, and he was a great colleague to work with.
As we celebrate their memory, may God’s grace surround us, His comfort strengthen us, and His promises sustain us. We trust that one day, we will be reunited in His glorious Kingdom, where there is no more sorrow, only everlasting joy.
“The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
May the peace of Christ be with all who mourn today.

Julia, I was saddened and shocked to learn of Michael's passing. May your faith, family, friends, and good memories of times together help ease your sorrow. While you and I have only known one another for a relatively short time, I am sure that you will get through the upcoming days and weeks because of your faith and support from family and friends.

I had the privilege of meeting Mike while working for ATCO, when he traveled to Alaska to support us at the POGO Mine. From the very beginning, Mike worked tirelessly alongside our team to help launch our preventative maintenance program. He was meticulous with every detail, holding himself and the work to the highest standard. Because of his dedication and leadership, he delivered a solid, state-of-the-art PM program that continues to make an impact.
What stood out most about Mike wasn’t just his professionalism—it was his character. Even months and years after he left POGO, he remained just a phone call away. He was always willing to listen, offer guidance, and share his knowledge. That kind of loyalty and generosity is rare.
Mike made a lasting difference in our operation, but more importantly, he made a lasting difference in the lives of those who had the honor of working with him. You will be deeply missed, my friend. I am truly thankful for the time I was able to spend with you.

To Mike’s Family,
I want to extend my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to you during this incredibly difficult time.
Working alongside Mike here on-site, I had the privilege of seeing the kind of person he was — dependable, hardworking, and respectful. He was a valued part of our team, and his presence truly mattered. Life on-site builds strong connections, and Mike was someone people appreciated and respected.
He carried himself with quiet strength and contributed in meaningful ways each day. His absence will be deeply felt by those of us who had the opportunity to work beside him.
Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you find comfort in the memories you shared and in knowing that Mike made a lasting impact on the people around him.
With sincere sympathy,
Dori Steele
