Obituary of Garry George Christie
CHRISTIE GARRY G. – Peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital on Sunday February 15th, 2026; Garry George Christie of St. Stephen, NB; husband of the late Maureen Mabel (O’Farrell) Christie.
Born in St. Stephen, NB; he is the son of the late Charles & Shirley Christie.
Garry worked for many years as a peace officer for the Province of New Brunswick.
Before his wife Maureen of 50 years passed away, they lived & worked in various parts of Canada before returning to New Brunswick. Garry worked out west, as well as in Niagara Falls, in which he flew helicopter tours over the falls as well as being called upon for expertise in flying to aid in rescue operations of stranded tourists. Garry and Mo also owned and operated along with the daughters Magnum garage and gas station. He had a passion for fishing and liked to work with his hands a lot as well as being very good with mechanics. Gary and Mo built a home on Kerrs Lake with the help of family where they lived happily for many years.
Garry is survived by his daughter Tina Seelye and her husband Skeet of Calais ME, U.S.A., son Roger Cook (Wendy) of Saint John, NB, grandchildren, Jesse Christie (Isabel) of Bayside, NB, Naomi Richardson of Halifax, NS, Derian Richardson(Abbey) of St. Stephen, NB, Emma Dwelley (Jeremy) or Howland Me USA, Nick Seelye of Calais Me USA, Chad Seelye (Lee) of Baileyville Me USA, Brooklyn, great grandchildren, Carson Richardson, Calvin Richardson, Weston Dwelley and Manny Seelye.
Garry was predeceased by his daughter Terri Richardson.
By Garry’s request cremation will take place followed by a memorial service to remember his life to be held on Friday February 20th, 2026, at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB E3L 2B2 (506 – 466 – 3110). A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home reception center.
