Jamie, Jessica and Lindsay, I am sorry to hear the loss of Paulette. She, and you all, are in so many of my fond memories growing up on the island. I am sure I can offer no words that can provide comfort during this time, but I know she’s in heaven now, singing and smiling in all his glory. She’s touched so many lives and a life lived to celebrate. Praying for God’s peace and love to you all these days.

Jamie,
We are so sorry. Beaver and I were in prayer and as he call her name, a voice spoke to me (I know it was God) go look on her page. Even as he prayed I grabbed my phone and looked on her page. My heart breaks for you. We will be there on the 2nd. Know that we love you and are here for you. She was a wonderful woman and a great witness for our Lord and Savior. I told her just recently on a post that we will get together again someday! If not on this earth in eternity. I believe that with all my heart I find comfort in knowing that we will meet again and I pray that you will find comfort in that also. I pray that you are able to feel God's loving hands wrapped around you even now. She was a shining light to everyone that she met.
Love you!
From Mae and Beaver.

Dear Jamie and family,
I was deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Paulette’s passing. Paulette shared her faith boldly and lived it authentically. She was never afraid to speak truth into your life and I was no exception, “I think you should be a resource teacher - you have a truly God-given talent for it.” She saw it as a calling. I fought God on that calling for many years, but eventually I surrendered, completed the coursework, and earned my reading specialist designation. I owe the joy of this last decade of teaching to her speaking that truth to me nearly 25 years ago.
Though time and distance caused us to lose touch, her influence never faded. Her voice, wisdom, and conviction are still very much with me. It is comforting to know that Paulette is now fully healed and standing joyfully in the presence of the Lord she loved and served so passionately. These words from Thank-You say it better than I ever could:
“One by one they came—far as the eye could see—
Each life somehow touched by her generosity…
And as Jesus took her hand and she stood before the Lord,
He said, ‘My child, look around you,
for great is your reward.’”
My heart breaks for your family, but I am deeply grateful for the legacy she leaves behind: a legacy of faith, truth, encouragement, and fearless love. Paulette changed lives because she listened to God and wasn’t afraid to speak what He placed on her heart. May you feel God’s peace, comfort, and strength in the days ahead, and may you find reassurance in knowing her impact will continue for generations.
With heartfelt sympathy and love,
Jen Martin-Hawkes and Family

Dear Jamie and Family:
i am saddened to hear of Paulettes passing but my heart is also rejoicing knowing that she was a person of great faith who had no fear of “what comes next.”
In 1981 I was a “newly minted” educator fresh out of college, green as the grass, and starting my first “real job” at Lubec Elementary School.
I didn’t know a soul in the community. Paulette reached out almost immediately introducing herself and in the next breath invited my family over for dinner. We became fast friends and spent lots of time visiting , sharing meals and playing board games with Paulette, Jamie and our other “school colleagues.”
As life got busy with children, career changes and moves we saw less of each other but always kept in touch.
Through life’s tribulations Paulette and Jamie have always been there. On my last visit with them we had some “good cries” and as always they showed themselves to be the truest of friends.
My condolences and love go out to Jamie and the children, grandchildren , extended family and all who knew and loved Paulette.
The “Servant Song” seems an appropriate way to close.
Will you let me be your servant, let me be as Christ to you;
pray that I may have the grace to let you be my servant too.
We are pilgrims on a journey, we are trav’lers on the road;
we are here to help each other walk the mile and bear the load.
I will weep when you are weeping; when you laugh, I’ll laugh with you.
I will share your joy and sorrow ‘til we’ve seen this journey through.
My love.
God’s Peace
Ron Beckwith
