Obituary of Agnes Madelyn Chislett
With profound sadness the family of Agnes Madelyn Chislett announce her passing on Sunday October 19, 2025, at the Campobello Lodge.
Agnes is survived by her loving husband Clarence; her son Murray (Matt Aitchison) Toronto; her daughter Leanne (Greg) Arnold; grandchildren Maddie (Jared) Furlong, Alex (Bree) Arnold; great grandson Aidan Furlong all of Saint John; sisters Louise Burke and Edith (Charlie) Cunningham; brother-in-law Jon Pedersen; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Agnes was proceeded in death by her parents Murray and Pauline Newman. Both Agnes and Pauline moved to Heaven on October 19. Forty years apart. Sister Freda Pedersen; brother-in-law Richard Burke. Tracey Cunningham and Dawn Aeron Thompson.
Agnes and Bud were blessed to have been married for 59 1/2 years. Spending most of those years in Wilson's Beach.
Agnes will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humour. Her kind heart towards everyone she met. She loved watching curling and tennis on tv. Spending summer days on their deck reading or watching the ocean. Her greatest joy was her family.
She was a lifelong member of Wilson's Beach United Baptist Church. Fulfilling various roles over the years and serving as treasurer for over 40 years.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Campobello Lodge for taking such good care of Agnes during her 40 days as a resident.
We will be honouring Agnes at 2 pm on Thursday October 23, 2025, at Humphrey's Funeral Home (20 Marks Street St. Stephen NB E3L 2B2) in their chapel with Rev. Jason Hooper presiding. All are welcome to join us.
A private burial will take place at the Wilson's Beach Cemetery.
Donations in Agnes’ memory may be made to the Wilson's Beach Baptist Church or Edith Lank Camp.
