Amanda Jane Cogswell (Lyon) born July 9, 1973, in Ormskirk, England. She passed away October 10, 2025, with her family by her side.

She is survived by her loving husband Joey Cogswell of 27 years, daughter Jessica LeBlanc (Robbie LeBlanc), son Nicholas Cogswell, Mother Maya Lyon, sister Michelle Gallant (John Gallant), granddaughter Jade Leblanc, nephew Matthew Smith, niece Maya Gallant, and many loyal friends.

She was predeceased by her father David Lyon.

Amanda immigrated with her parents and sister to St. Stephen as a young child, to the town she has called home for the past 50 years. Although she still took opportunities to show her British roots with pride. In her youth, she supported her parents by working at the family-owned business, Riverside Grocery where she saved her money for a university education.

She graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Shortly after she began her long-time career of 28 years with Canada customs where she persevered and left lasting impressions on her coworkers. During her service with customs, she was a member of the honour guard and acquired the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

She had a competitive nature whether it be dominating during a family board game or coming out on top in sports. She was an athlete throughout her lifetime who enjoyed dribbling a soccer ball on the field or serving up her opponents in a game of tennis, badminton, or pickleball.

Her most recent passion was being a member of the Charlotte County Jeep Club. She shared this love with her husband and close friends. Each year her and her husband coordinated the Cogswell Cup welcoming challengers to navigate a course blindfolded. This year Amanda was proud to take home the trophy for the John Mosher Balance Competition.

The thing she loved the most was cooking and baking for her loved ones. She always hosted gatherings and holidays with the door wide open to welcome all for a home-cooked meal and a laugh.

She has touched the lives of so many and will always be in our hearts.
