Obituary of Philip Steven Koteff
Koteff, Philip Steven
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Philip Steven Koteff, who left us peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital, St, Stephen NB on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
Philip was the son of Edna Koteff of Pennfield, NB and was predeceased by his father Christopher Koteff Sr., his son Steven Roy Koteff and his brothers Christopher Koteff Jr.
Philip is survived by his beloved partner Tina Dawn Barry; his three daughters Christina, Sarah, Alesha and his son Nicholas. He is also remembered with love by his sister Lorraine (Tom) Case as well as his brothers Eric Koteff and Larry (Donna) Koteff and their respective children, his nieces, and nephews.
Philip was born in Toronto, Ontario and in 1963 he came with his family to live in Pennfield Ridge NB. In his early years, he worked at Lake Utopia Pulp and Paper and then travelled out west to work for awhile. Philip was most content in New-Brunswick working as a carpenter, creating, designing, drafting floor plans and building. He always made sure every project he completed showed his determined spirit and unwavering commitment. Known for being a jack of all trades, Philip could repair, build and invent almost anything.
Philip had a soft spot in his heart for animals, his whole life, especially his cherished two cats Pumpkin and Porky, who brought him comfort and companionship throughout the years.
Though Philip is no longer with us, his spirit, knowledge, jokes and laughter will live on through many memories. Even his famous saying “Now, let me tell you how to do it” will stay with many who had the privilege of being told how to do it right. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.
As per Philip’s wishes, arrangements have been entrusted to Humphreys Funeral Home (20 Marks Street St. Stephen NB) and a private family graveside Blessing will be held at a later date.
For those who desire a donation in memory of Philip can be made to the St. George Animal Shelter or a charity of the donor’s choice.
