I am so very sorry to learn of Gary’s passing. As a young girl I grew up beside Gary and parents on Spring St in Milltown. Always got to catch up on the news when we’d be at Lincourt visiting. Such a nice guy you were Gary, RIP

My name is Sherry Appleby. Gary was my uncle on my dad's side. He is the last of the Appleby family to pass away. We spent lots of summer vacations down that way. Uncle Gary and Aunt Sheila ventured up this way via bus when my dad (Wayne) was in his final days. It was a sad visit, but it was also nice to have them both here with dad. My hubby and I went down to visit with them a few years after dad passed away and I will always remember the days we spent with them both. I will miss our talks we had in the last few weeks.
Love you
Sherry Appleby

My memories of Gary date back to growing up in Milltown with the ball diamond just past the raspberry bushes in our backyard. Gary was a great ball player and well liked by all his teammates. I always knew when he was on the diamond because “Mule Skinner Blues” could be heard from our house, as he belted it out. Rest in Peace Gary. Safe journey home.

So very sorry to hear of Gary's sudden passing. My late wife and I really enjoyed square and round dancing with Gary and Carolyn. Brian will certainly be at a loss without his dad's participation in his life. Sincere condolences to all the family and extended family at this time.

I was very sorry to hear of Gary's sudden passing. He was a family man, in every sense of the word. Despite his own recent health issues...Gary always put Carolyn & Brian's needs first. Our neighbourhood has lost a good member. My deepest sympathy to Brian, Carla & Steve, and all the Appleby family...

It was with great sadness that we learned of Gary's passing. There are many things we will remember about him: His love for his family was evident as a devoted husband and father. The time he spent helping out with the Vocational Centre did not go unnoticed. Mornings at Tim's he'd be sitting with the fellows discussing all manner of topics before heading off to shoot pool with Herb the other retirees at Dooley's three mornings a week. Our condolences to the family.
