Obituary of Eileen M. Ingersoll
INGERSOLL EILEEN M. – At the Grand Manan Nursing Home on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025; Eileen Marion (Mawhinney) Ingersoll, wife of the late Donald Ingersoll. Born in Maces Bay, NB; she is the daughter of the late Sylas Alward Mawhinney & Stella (Campbell) Mawhinney - Janes.
Eileen worked along with her husband Donald for many years as the owners & proprietors of M & E Cabins as well as Ingersoll’s Grocery. Eileen even had time to work afterwards for Jenny’s Donut shop. Eileen then worked at Atlantic Wholesalers as a sales rep.
Eileen thoroughly enjoyed travelling, especially to Cocoa Beach FL, she affectionately always called her second home.
Eileen is survived by her daughter Sharon Urquhart ( Greg) of Bayside, NB, son Michael (Ruthilynn) of Woodwards Cove, NB, 4 grandchildren Wendy, Kelly, Alyssa, & Jenny, 7 great grandchildren Jordan, Jailen, Quincey, Courtenay, Kadynne, Austin & Ryan, 5 great great grandchildren Jaxen, Blake, Reeve, Kasen & Oakley, brother Sylas Jr.(Marjorie) of Maces Bay, NB, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eileen was predeceased by her grandson Jason Urquhart and her sister Grace Cary Janes and her step father George Janes.
A funeral service, in celebration of Eileen’s life will be held on Friday, June 13th, 2025 at 1:30 pm at theImmanuel Family Church 749 Route 776 Grand Manan, NB E5G 3C4.
The family will receive friends at the church during a time of visitation on Friday from 12:30 pm until service time. The interment will immediately follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Grand Manan Nursing Home and to the Charlotte County Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. On line condolences to the family or donations can be made at www.humphreysfh.com
The family would like to take this opportunity to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Grand Manan Nursing Home for the wonderful care shown to Eileen, as well as to her family over the years during her stay there. Your care and attention went beyond the call of duty and is so appreciated.
