Obituary of Frances Elizabeth Lawrence
Lawrence, Frances Elizabeth (Cunningham)
97 years, passed peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Lincourt Manor in St. Stephen New Brunswick. Born in Bocabec, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Marion (Clinch) and Henry Douglas Cunningham. She was predeceased by her husband Harold Austin Lawrence in 1973.
Frances is survived by her brother William Cunningham (Sylvia), of Georgetown ON, 2 sons Beverly (Bernice) Lawrence of St. Stephen NB, Raine (Ruth) Lawrence of Titusville NB, 2 daughters, Christine Donna Lawrence (John Campbell) of Lake Country BC, Shirley Acheson (Gerry) of Florida, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son Wesley, grandson Jeffery, brother Burton and sister-in-law Geneva.
Frances worked in the Insurance Industry for many years, she held positions in Saint John, St. George, and St. Stephen. She was an avid bottle collector, enjoyed playing crib and her door was always open for a cup of tea, and one of her molasses cookies. She liked nothing better than a country hike with her brother Bill.
Frances family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the entire staff at Lincourt Manor for their kind and compassionate care.
Friends and family are invited to a period of visitation at Humphreys Funeral Home (20 Marks St. St. Stephen NB E3L 2B2) on Saturday May 24, 2025, from 1-2PM followed by a funeral service at 2PM. Interment to follow in the Bocabec Community Cemetery.
For those who are unable to attend the service in person, a livestream of the service will be available. Frances was a long-time treasurer for the Bocabec Community Cemetery and for those who wish a donation in her memory to the Cemetery would be greatly appreciated by the family.
