Obituary of Nancy Ruth Gay
Gay, Nancy Ruth
Nancy, born February 15, 1937, passed away peacefully at Lincourt Nursing Home, St. Stephen, NB on May 4, 2025.
She was the daughter of the late Bernie and Hazel Gay and granddaughter of the late Sandy and Isabel Brown. She is survived by her brother James Gay Gibbs (Doris-deceased) of Elliot Lake, ON., sister Beverly Gay Kovacs (Paul-deceased) of Burlington, ON., and predeceased by stepbrother Robert Allason.
As a young woman, Nancy left her hometown of St. Joseph’s Island, ON., and moved to Calgary, AB where she worked with the Canadian Red Cross until retiring. Not long after retirement she chose to move back east to the coast of New Brunswick. She was a quiet and caring person who enjoyed the simple things in life from reading to bird watching. Fishing, camping, and walking along the beach, but at the top of her list were her pets. She had raised and cared for numerous ones over the years and loved them all.
As per Nancy’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a committal service is to be determined at a later date. If one so wishes, a donation to the CCSPCA would be appreciated.
Ron and Suzanne Hooper would like to thank the staff at Lincourt Manor for the great care and attention given to her the last two years. RIP Nancy, you have earned your wings. I will miss you. -Suzanne aka Sue-Lei.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care & direction of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB, E3L 2B2 (506 – 466 – 3110)
