Obituary of David Anthony King
David Anthony King was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia on September 22nd,1943. David is the son of Rev. John C. King and Mary Tennant King. Rev. King served in several churches in the St. Stephen area from the late 1930s to early 1940s. The son of a minister, David and his family lived in several Maritime locations before moving to Ontario.
David loved and was truly loved by his family including his wife of 54 years and best friend Barbara King, St. Stephen, daughters Jennifer DiGirolamo (David) and Allison Crosscup (Philip), grandchildren Nicolas DiGirolamo and Olivia DiGirolamo,brother Russell King and sister June Bidgood, and several nieces and nephews. His love and kindness was also felt by close friends and his church families.
David’s career at Liberty Mutual Insurance took him from Toronto to Boston where he managed the Administrative Services Department and later became Vice President of Employee Relations. In retirement he worked as a real estate agent in Massachusetts, and upon moving to the St. Stephen area in 2006 became a Licensed Lay Worship Leader serving several small churches in the United
Church of Canada. His home church is Wesley United Church in St. Andrews, NB.
David is remembered for the love he gave, the laughter we shared, and his
signature salutation: JOY!
A funeral service will be held at Wesley United on Friday, March 28 th at 11:00 AM,with an internment in Oshawa, Ontario on Saturday May 3 rd . Memorial donations may be made in his name to Wesley United Church, St. Andrews, NB or to the
charity of your choice.
