Obituary of Alice M. Green
Green, Alice M. – At the Grand Manan Hospital on Saturday, March 8 th , 2025;Alice (Mae) (Taylor) Green, wife of 66 years to the late Chester Green, passed away peacefully with family by her side.
Born on Grand Manan, she is the daughter of the late Archibald & Nettie (Parker) Taylor.
Alice, a stay at home mum, loved and cared for her children and always thoroughly enjoyed the company of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren when they could visit.
Alice was a longtime member of The Lighthouse Church. In her younger years she was an active choir member.
Alice was a social butterfly and enjoyed the company of others at musical events in the community. She also enjoyed playing guitar and piano.
Alice is survived by her son, David Green, and three daughters, Ardis Dow, Joan (Dave Harvey) and Nancy Green; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 7 great, great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She lost a very special grandson, Tony, in 2004.
Alice was the last surviving sibling of her childhood family. She was also predeceased by brothers Donnie, Wesley, Clifton, Lewis and Leighton; and sisters Rowena and Ruth.
A funeral service in celebration of Alice’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 12 th , 2025 at 1:00 pm at Lighthouse Church. The interment will take place in the spring at Maple Grove Cemetery .
The family will receive friends at the Phillip Ells Jr. Memorial Funeral Centre during a time of visitation on Tuesday afternoon from 2 - 4 pm and in the evening from 6 – 7 pm.
