Obituary of Ellen I. Greene

GREENE ELLEN I. - At the Grand Manan Hospital on Tuesday, February 11 th , 2025; Ellen Ileene (Griffin) Greene; wife of the late Randy Greene of Grand Manan, NB. Born on Grand Manan, she is the daughter of the late Walter & Dorothy Mae (Lambert)
Griffin.
      Ellen worked for many years at the Grand Manan Home Hardware; a job in which she thoroughly enjoyed interacting with customers, helping them to find the latest sales or deals in the store. Prior to that she worked at Connors Bros and also the Dulse Plant.
      Ellen very much loved the art of photography. She especially loved taking family photos specifically family & friends. Ellen’s greatest passion however was her granddaughter Gracie.
     Ellen is survived by her 2 sons Aaron Greene and Andrew Greene, both of Grand Manan, her brother Gatchel Griffin, her beloved granddaughter Gracie Mae Greene, her two nieces Quincey Griffin of St. Stephen, NB and Courtenay Griffin of Rothesay, NB,
aunts, uncles & cousins.
    Ellen was predeceased by her brother Burrell Ralph Griffin four years ago.
    A funeral service in celebration of Ellen’s life will be held on Saturday, February 15th, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Lighthouse Church, 1038 Route 776 Grand Manan, NB E5G 4E5.
   The family will receive friends at the church during a brief time of visitation from 12 noon until 1:00 pm
Pastor Bruce Cheney officiating. The interment will take place in the spring at Maple Grove Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Charlotte County Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. On line condolences to the family or donations can be made at www.humphreysfh.com
