Brown, Joanne Marie (Thomas)
Passed peacefully in the comfort of her home with her family by her side, on Friday January 31st, 2025, at the age of 94. Born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick she was the daughter of the late Allison and Mary (Stairs) Thomas.
Joanne was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Sheridan Brown, in 2015.
Joanne will be lovingly remembered by her children Susan (Steven) Trevor, James (Katie)Brown, Sandra Brown and Peter (Helen Johnston)Brown, grandchildren; Simon (Maude) Brown, Timothy (Sarah) Brown, Martha (Cody) Brown, Paul (Mireya) Trevor, Matthew (Leah) Trevor, Maria (Nolan) Trevor, Jessie (Hamish) Brown, Dylan (Kristin) Brown, great-grandchildren; Isabelle, Claire, Elliot (Brown), Lincoln, Finnigan (Brown), Reed, Isla, Cole (Trevor), Isaiah, Samiah (Woodword), Elizabeth (Hay), Parker, Aspen (Brown), several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as her sister-in-law, Jean Brown.
In addition to her parents and husband Joanne was predeceased by her sisters; Joyce (Carson) McGlinchey and Arlene (Don) Brook and brother David (Bea) Thomas.
Joanne and Sheridan were longtime members of Kirk McColl United Church. Joanne was dearly loved. Her loving and positive outlook set a wonderful example for us all.
The family wishes to thank those caregivers who helped Joanne stay in the comfort of her home until the very end.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Monday, February 3rd, 2025, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at (Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street St Stephen, NB 506 – 466 – 3110)
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Kirk McColl United Church. Rev. Andrew Jensen officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the church hall. A private family interment will take place at Moores Mills Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations to Kirk McColl United Church or the IWK Children’s Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
