Jacqueline Rose Linton

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jacqueline Rose Ingersoll Monroe Linton on March 26th, 2026, at St Joseph’s Hospital in Saint John NB. Known to everyone as either Jacq or Jackie, she was born on Grand Manan Island NB on January 8th, 1942.  She was always fiercely proud to share her Birth date with Elvis Presley.

Jacq was a proud Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, sibling, aunt, and friend to many.  She is survived by her daughters Stephanie Little (Wayne) of Sussex and Krista Zwicker (Kurt) of Grand Manan;  her stepchildren Michael Linton (Andrea) and Tammy Linton (Gary Beek) of Grand Manan; her grandchildren Tracey Ingalls (Michael Outhouse) and Brent Greenlaw (Deanna) both of Grand Manan; her step-grandchildren Leon LeBlanc and Brittany LeBlanc (Jese Lister) of Moncton, Kayla Linton and Drew Linton of Grand Manan, Scott Little (Stacey) of Fairfield NB, Corey Little of Quispamsis; Danita MacFawn (Davey), Danny Greenlaw (Lyndsay) and Devin Greenlaw (Amanda Roode) all of Grand Manan, as well as 14 great-great grandchildren and step-great-great grandchildren.  Jacq is survived by her siblings Barbara Guptill, Stuart Ingersoll, and Cathy O’Neill (Phillip) all of Grand Manan. She loved them all.

Jacq was predeceased by her second Husband Robert L Linton on January 22nd, 2026, her infant son Duane Allison Monroe in 1967, her parents Sherwin Ingersoll and Alda (Stanley) Ingersoll both of Grand Manan, her sister Myrna Johnson, and her brother Scott Ingersoll.

Jacq grew up in North Head, Grand Manan with five siblings and graduated from Grand Manan High School in 1960.  She embarked on a life journey that would see her excel as a Homemaker in the 60’s and 70’s, a Cosmetics Sales Associate in the 80’s and then find the Career she would eventually retire from as an Activity Director for the Grand Manan Nursing Home. As an Activity Director Jacq found her calling and went above and beyond to engage and entertain Nursing Home Residents for many years.

Through all those years, her love of Gardening and Landscaping was on full display. She was an active Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #44 until health issues prevented her from participating.

Through the 90’s Jacq organized and oversaw Benefit Bingos for local citizens needing a helping hand and found great personal satisfaction seeing them through and equal satisfaction watching the Community come together to help a neighbor.

Her later years saw her travelling to sunny destinations to enjoy Cruising and Beaches with beautiful white sand for taking long walks.  She lived life well.

As per Jacq’s wishes Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
