I’m an RN who provided Josie with home care.
Josie Brown was the client who touched me the most. Josie was a warrior. His strong life force kept him going against all odds and the opinions of professional naysayers.
But what was really special about Josie was that somewhere beyond Josie’s constant fight to stay with those who loved him , Josie found a place of joy and peace. You could see it and hear it in his steady piercing gaze, bright smile and his amazing laugh. How many folks have been in a room with Josie and seen him light up a room with his smile and laugh? To hold Josie in your arms was like holding life a little dynamo of powerful energy that pierced your soul.
A few words about Josie’s family and friends. When I consider all the love and sacrifice poured into Josie’s life by those who loved him, I am humbled. I have to call out his Mom, Renee. I always felt like I was riding shotgun for a fearsome warrior who fought constantly to get Josie the care he needed. And not just on the long drives to care centers. I call her the Mama Lion. Team Josie, made up of his family and friends who loved him, was truly amazing.
So sorry, I remember when you came to the house with Josie. He was only a few weeks old. Precious little fellow. May you find peace knowing he is with the Good Lord. Dianne Brown
